Pharmacies
provide a vital service to the local community, but it is getting ever
harder to compete with the large multiples and the supermarkets. While
the focus of the business is always the dispensary, it is becoming
important to capitalise on the business potential of the retail shop –
and that means tighter control of stock and margin.
StoreTrader
Live Pharmacy Edition is a complete PoS and stock management system,
designed specifically for pharmacies. It perfectly suits the sole
trader, but equally manages pharmacy groups, with no limit to size. It
will work alongside any dispensary system and the NHS N3 spine.
It includes the following:
StoreTrader Live base system,
providing support for PIP codes and product pricing by Branch and
(optionally) integrated PoS and back office (Store Server) on the PoS
terminal.
PoS Order Management,
which allows supplier orders to be created and modified at the till. A
preset key on the touch screen calls up the order management function,
which then provides for:
- purchase
order (PO) creation by the system, based on sales of products from a
specific supplier for yesterday, the last week or last month. These can
then be reviewed and modified by the user
- new PO creation, with products selected by barcode scanning, PIP code or selecting from search lists
- optionally marking POs for review at Head Office before sending to suppliers.
PoS Online Order,
which sends POs to defined suppliers via a dial-up or broadband
connection. It also receives auto-generated replies and interprets
them, with the option to print them on the receipt printer to help when
investigating anomalies.
PoS Stock Management, which provides for receiving and transferring stock. The user can:
- book-in a delivery at any time, by calling up the appropriate PO or electronic delivery note for the supplier
- quickly confirm the quantities actually received or override them
- review all outstanding PO lines for a supplier, across any number of POs
- receive stock transferred from another branch in a pharmacy group
- transfer stock to another shop in the group
- start a stock count, or respond to one or several automatically created by the system or sent by Head Office
The
PoS user can press a preset key to return to StoreTrader to serve a
customer, and again to return to continue in order management or stock
management, at any time.
Purchase
orders, supplier replies and delivery notes can stay on the system
indefinitely, for easy reconciliation of errors or to help resolve
disputes.
Product Update, which uses the StoreTrader product link facility to
- automatically read the C+D (Chemist & Druggist) weekly feed of product updates
- read
supplier catalogues, databases or spreadsheet files and store product
descriptions in the StoreTrader Product Master reference file, and
optionally create equivalent items in StoreTrader Live
- automatically update descriptions and prices for known products
- record all changes for review at any time
Customer Update, which provides similar facilities for account customer records. Handheld stock management to simplify and speed up checking deliveries into stock, and doing stock checks
PMR Link,
a standard StoreTrader Live function which uses a preset key to call up
another application (typically a part of the dispensary system, such as
a PMR lookup) at the till.
Within
a pharmacy group, StoreTrader Pharmacy Edition with Enterprise server
helps increase control of stock and pricing across the whole estate, by:
- routing all supplier orders through the Enterprise server for approval
- consolidating the transmission of orders, so that individual branches don’t have to use dial-up lines
- distributing all product price and other changes to the stores after they have been verified at head office
- consolidating all sales and stock data for analysis and reporting at head office
- providing a single interface to the group accounting, webstore and CRM system.
