StoreTrader
Classic differs from StoreTrader Live in being a local-only system.
That is, the Store Server is on a local area network to the PoS
terminals, and supports only local access to the Store Server functions.
However,
StoreTrader has moved on enormously since those pioneering days and the
last release of the legacy StoreTrader was Version 2.903. This is no
longer available for implementation except to currently-installed
customers who need consistency across a group of terminals and stores,
but we will provide a support service under a Version 2 maintenance
agreement. To find out more, contact your Reseller or email us.
Many
StoreTrader customers continue to run the earlier versions, including
those which run on early diskless PoS terminals such as the Wincor
Nixdorf Beetle. They are a testament to StoreTrader’s legendary
ruggedness and reliability, since some of these systems are close to 10
years old and have never been turned off!
We
still support the earlier versions of StoreTrader, going back to
version 1.001! Yes, we have the source code for the very earliest
editions and everything since, so we can reproduce any environment in
our support centre. We will gladly take any support call on StoreTrader
Classic, but we will have to charge for any work we may need to do to
help resolve a problem since those early versions do not include many
of the problem fixes and diagnostic aids we introduced in the current
versions.
There are many
advantages in moving from the original StoreTrader to StoreTrader Live,
including preferential rates for the upgrade. Contact your Reseller or
contact us direct at info@storetrader.com to find out more.
