StoreTrader background
StoreTrader was designed by Andrew Ridgway and developed by Epsilon Technologies Ltd. In 2005 Pacific Retail, backed by private investors, bought all the assets of Epsilon, including StoreTrader. The company is intent on bringing this beautifully-designed and famously reliable system to a wider market.
People
Andrew Ridgway is Systems Architect of Pacific Retail.
He worked with Price Waterhouse Coopers for several years on the design and development of many retail systems, including Sainsbury’s SavaCentre. He formed Epsilon Technologies in 1999 in order to develop the first general-purpose point of sale product designed for Windows. Since then he has with a team of collaborators developed StoreTrader into a comprehensive system which can manage any size of retail operation but which remains simple to install and maintain.
Mike Newman is Managing Director.
After a 10-year career with IBM he founded the software company Insight which developed and marketed financial systems. After the sale of Insight in 1985 he formed Pacific Systems International to specialise in software products and development for the IBM System38 (later AS/400). This grew to offices in Frimley (UK), Chicago (US) and Paris (France). He retired after the sale of Pacific in 1999 but was invited back to help direct the development of StoreTrader with a new company, Pacific Retail.
Mike O’Connell is Financial Director.
After a career at Ernst & Young Mike worked with Mike Newman at Pacific Systems, helping to drive the company’s growth and conclude the sale of the company to private investors. He formed Isosceles Finance to specialise in accounting and financial systems for high growth companies, and in the acquisition and funding of IT companies. Isosceles provides a wide range of accounting, administration and personnel services to its clients through clever use of online technologies.
